There are several opportunities to participate in this rich musical environment. Our musical ensembles include Adult Choir, Bell Choir, Youth Choir, and Alleluia Children's Choir, as well as an auditioned Compline Ensemble that performs during Advent and Lent.
If you are interested in joining any of these dynamic groups please contact Jennifer Quinones.

The Choir leads congregants during the Saturday and Sunday Services as well as prepare special offerings weekly to enhance the beautiful liturgy at Good Shepherd. The Choir has focused on preparing a many varied repertoire including early music up through the centuries to Gospel and modern compositions. It explores the best of what Sacred Liturgy has to offer, as well as explore new styles of music in the Lutheran Church.
Alleluia Choir
The Alleluia Choir is a singing ensemble for grades 1st – 5th grade. The group explores harmonic, sacred music from various genres, cultures, and eras. The choir also experiences music in different languages and styles. The Alleluia Choir performs once a month for Sunday morning services with special performances throughout the year. We rehearse every Wednesday in the Sanctuary from 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM. Anyone interested is welcome to join us.

The Bell Choir is for anyone interested in being in a musical group. No previous musical experience is needed. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who would like to explore the rich tradition of sacred music in the Lutheran church without needing to know anything about music. If you can count to four and you know the difference between your left and right hand you are a perfect candidate for the Bell Choir. We meet every Monday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 in the Sanctuary. This fun group performs once a month for one of our Sunday services, and performs for special occasions such as Christmas and Easter.

The Congregation enters the darkened Sanctuary with only the candlelight to guide them. Each person is left alone in silence to contemplate the experiences of the day in the beautiful, symbolic surrounding of the stained glass windows, wafting incense, and candlelight. At 8:30 the Choir enters, each chorister holding a single candle to the altar. After a breath the ancient service “At the end of the day” begins.
Compline is “technically” the Prayer at the Close of the Day. Benedict of Nursia (c.480 – 550 A.D.) has been credited with giving Compline a permanent place in the Daily Offices. Its purpose is to be the last office to offer prayer and reflection before one goes to sleep for the day. It follows Vespers in the order of offices.
Compline will be practiced throughout the season of Lent at 8:30 PM in the Sanctuary. If you are interested in auditioning to sing in Compline please contact Jennifer Quinones.
